As the holidays approach, I’m often asked to issue “gift vouchers”. Initially, I would respond on a case-by-case basis. However, I’ve since simplified the process with a Shiatsu Card, which is part of my service offering. It is available in a physical “card” version or simply in an electronic format. I’ll go into the practical details further. But first, let me share some thoughts on the matter.
Shiatsu: A meaningful gift
Offering a Shiatsu massage to a loved one means giving them the experience of lightness, rather than burdening them with a new object. It’s about addressing their deep nature rather than flattering their appearance. It’s about guiding them toward the well-being of a relaxed body and a serene mind. In short, it’s a beautiful gift, especially during a season when a wave of more or less inspired “offerings” floods families and groups of friends. This is true in winter, like today, when the body needs to be loosened up and warmed. But Shiatsu offers, in every season, the opportunity for an exchange with the surrounding energy and a reconnection with oneself.
A commercial drift for the Shiatsushi?
A “blind sale” would go against my values. A Shiatsu treatment should not be offered like a swimming pool ticket. The personalized card helps avoid this pitfall. There is an exchange with the buyer: Do you know Shiatsu? Who do you want to give it to, and why? Beyond that, I’m pleased when people want to treat a friend by introducing them to my services. Every professional wants to expand their client base, and I’m no exception. In general, Shiatsu suffers from a lack of recognition in Morocco. My services come at a certain price, and if the generous gesture of a third party encourages someone to experience it, all the better! It’s similar to offering a free demonstration as part of a special promotion.
The beginning of a journey or a beneficial pause
Disappointing experiences? They are rare. I mostly think of people who have never taken the plunge and have likely forgotten the card in a drawer. It’s disappointing, but there’s little I can do. If they had contacted me to “transfer” the card to someone else, I would have accepted, taking the same precautions to ensure that the gift is appropriate. The ultimate proof that the Shiatsu Card is on the right track is when the recipient continues with a series of treatments at their own expense. When this isn’t the case, and it’s just a one-time session, the treatment can still be highly beneficial and appreciated for what it is — a healing pause. So, don’t hesitate to treat yourself and others.
Practical details
- Whether electronic or physical, the Shiatsu Card is personalized, non-refundable, and valid for 6 months.
- The appointment is made under the usual conditions: the person receiving the gift contacts me directly to find a time slot that suits them.
- The price of the treatment doesn’t appear on the card, but the rate is the same as for any treatment, whether in the clinic or at home.
- A card can include multiple treatments. If someone isn’t interested (this can happen) and wants to “pass on” their gift, or if they need to extend the validity period for any reason, they can contact me, and we will always find a solution.
- To order the card or to book an appointment and enjoy the treatment, the contact details are the same: WhatsApp +212 635 72 89 77 or email: fo@louail-shiatsu.com.
